Just got out of the cinema and wow! It was the fullest I’ve seen in a WHILE :bradley: and I go to the cinema almost every week (last week there were only 6 people, including me lol, at Last Night in Soho). When I was walking out, I literally heard so many people complimenting Gaga and her acting. She delivered and I’m so proud of her! :vegas: *Also many people seem to love the Al Pacino & Jared Leto scenes lmao, they couldn’t stop laughing.

I saw HOG today with my mom. Generally speaking, we felt it was just an okay film. Naturally, we loved Gaga's performance (duh). She literally shined every time she was on the screen, especially the scene where she's lighting that cig after her confrontation with Aldo....if looks could kill  Unlike ASIB where I couldn't let go of that Gaga persona, I was really able to suspend disbelief and see her as the character of Patritzia. Her chemistry with Adam was bland and personally I feel she acted circles around him in all their scenes together. I was surprised that I enjoyed Jared's and Al's performances as much as I did, I would have liked to have seen more of that relationship with Gaga's character.

I really hated how poorly edited this film was. There were a lot of times we were not sure what time period we were in or even which city the action was taken place in. It left a lot of unanswered questions. The length of HOG is also an issue, after the ski trip scenes, it really begins to drag; and the entire end after the murder is just rushed through. The costumes were top notch, as was the scenic design, and the soundtrack was eargasmic, but this is not a movie I will be rushing back to theaters to see. Once it's released on streaming, then I'll give it another go.

You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.

I freaking loved the whole thing, Gaga and Jared were both wooow but congrats to everyone else as well. Such a great movie :kara: I’m actually planning to watch it again sometime even though I was a bit freaked out that the cinema was on full house. Which is a good thing for the movie but from miss rona point of view a bit concerning.

Yeah the movie had some problems with pacing, especially first half really struggled with weird cuts... It really surprised me because person resposible for montage is Claire Simpson, and she did perfect work on Platoon (1986), The Constant Gardener (2005), The Reader (2008), but her work is not constant, she did montage on flop movies too... The actors did amazing job, especially Al Pacino, but the film didn't fit much substance in it, I don't know how to even descibe it. Like it has a lot of scenes that kind of go nowhere? But at the same time it wasn't boring?

For example The Wolf Of Wall Street (which is also a long movie) felt like in fit 3x more story and character work than House of Gucci. I can't grasp what was the problem here, need to watch it again.

If the editing was tweaked and paced slightly better, it could’ve been a 3 hour movie and I wish it was.

I loved every minute, it is so fun and entertaining. Gaga, Jared and Al are amazing, all of their scenes are so enjoyable. My only slight issue was some parts of the editing. I'd give it a 9/10 :legend:

Agreed. There were a lot of interesting stories they were trying to tell at once. But they mashed them together too frequently and it became a bit jumbled

Who actually cares about what critics say? :lmao:

I just saw the movie and it was AMAZING.

It's just like any other awards show. Gaga doesn't care and neither should we. She didn't do this for some stupid Rotten Tomatoes number lol she did this for the culture.

Saw it last night and Gaga truly did that! The editing was all over the place and many of the male actors acted like they were in different movies but Gaga kept this film together!

Cinematography is great because Dariusz Wolski. The scenario and montage lacked a lot.
