If it were given the attention to detail, and reverence to the material, and honestly; pure budget of something like "Dune" or "The Hunger Games" or any of the Marvel properties, it could be quite special. Other than that, lots if die hard fans have known the existence of this movie since the Toei Europe website leak, and a lot of us speculated it will either be about Uub and Moro arc, or some big bad from movie or spin off will be canonized the way Broly was with the last movie. Personally, I wanted for Cell to return. Toriyama hated Cell cos it was a chore to draw him, but he won't draw for the movie, so I hope he can be returning with new power like Frieza with Gold Frieza did. The issue is the fight scenes would never look good If they made a movie for Dragon Ball (not Z), they could lean into the plot and martial arts aspects. Like, imagine live action Tien vs Goku But by Z, the characters are flying around at the speed of light, bench pressing mountains, blowing up planets, it'd all look a bit silly live action. You can read them on VIZ https://www.viz.com/shonenjump/chapters/dragon-ball-super You have to pay for any older than three months but I catch them the day they come out the current arc is about a dude named Granola who is about to get clapped by Hakaishin Vegeta in the next chapter but his ultimate goal is to kill Frieza. He's not a bad guy so I imagine Goku and Vegeta will befriend him somehow and just let him blow Frieza away.
