Im so sorry Polish LGBTQI+ sweeties I think the EU parliament can sanction Poland, by not sending any EU funds to them. I am afraid in the worst case the EU would throw them out of the union.... that government is going back to the middle ages...

To clarify, it is not the case in Poland that the entire society is homophobic. Still, there are a lot of good people in this country who want lgbt people to feel safe. Lots of companies, most famous people, not to mention ordinary citizens. I would say it's half and half. This can be seen in the results of the elections that took place a year ago. The government consists of several deputies and unfortunately they make Poland into the Middle Ages. Please do not write that the European Union should throw out Poland, because there are a lot of LGBT people in this country. Think about them. Had it not been for the union, it would have been even worse. I am very glad that the union has finally taken some steps to prevent this, because if Poland was not in the union, it would be here like in Russia. Poland is a beautiful country (culture, food, customs, history) and don't be fooled by a sick government. They will go away someday. I hope.

WHAT I DONT GET IS THAT PEOPLE BELIEVE A MAN IN THE SKY LOVES THEM AS LONG AS THEY FOLLOW HIS RULES. AND THEY WILLINGLY ACCEPT THAT PEOPLE PASSED DOWN RELIGION AND HAD THE POWER TO CHANGE IT TO BENEFIT THEMSELVES BUT DIDNT. THEY FIND IT EASIER TO BELIEVE THIS THAN ACKNOWLEDGE THAT HUMANS ARE COMPLEX AND THEIR FEELINGS ARE EVEN MORE COMPLEX AND NOT EVERYONE CAN FIT INTO THE ‘norms’ CREATED BY SOCIETY.

Some local LGBTQIA+ activists are being sued by Poland for making a "Hate Atlas", basically a guide of areas to avoid in Poland. In Poland cities' governments are making an effort to become "LGBT free zones". And catholic lawyers from a fundamentalist hate group called Ordo Iuris are suing them for making this map that helps LGBTQIA+ people survive in Poland.

 

European Parliament condemned these LGBT+ Free Zones, but nothing is actually happening to help the LGBT people in Poland. That's insane!!

I live in one of them. I feel unwanted and I'm afraid of my safety every ****ing evening I walk through the city
