China needs to stop, ok I have nothing against chinese people but there's something wrong with how they handle animals and what they do with it, no precautions done. It's tiring seriously, are we gonna deal with this forever? There needs to be some change or punishment or law passed so that they stop breeding diseases left and right

Fun fact, Florida is seeing an boom in the population of invasive macaques which began in a public park some years ago. The macaques, as mentioned by OP, carry the herpes B virus which is usually fatal to humans. That said, the population started many years ago when some guy dropped the macaques off for a kind of safari park experience. They’ve now gone unchecked all those years and are wreaking havoc all over the park and have even ventured out into suburbs nearby. They chase after human visitors and are literally everywhere. So far there has been no effort to relocate or control the population. Aka my worst nightmare. Most recent estimates indicate anywhere from 500-600+ monkeys are running rampant in Florida at this time, and they are among the quickest to reproduce.

I believe a new zoonotic disease will appear, but not quite yet.. We had many reported 'rare' viruses that infected some people in the last year, but neither seem to pose any real danger (yet ).
