Gaga x Tony "One Last Time" August 3rd & 5th

I know they had the Yondr pouches but it’s honestly so easy to bypass that and this being such a huge event I’m certain somebody out there recorded it. I just don’t know where to look or find them. There aren’t any Tony Bennett forums out there so I decided to try some of the Lady Gaga forums.

Any help at all is so greatly appreciated. This is extremely important to me. Thank you to anyone who can help.

Wasn't the whole show recorded professionally? I could be wrong but I think it was. Several people said they were in the audience and there were big cameras that hid Tony & Stef from time to time, depending on where they were on that stage.

Or am I confusing with an other show? I read that the MTV special was unexpectedly cancelled at the last minute but I don't know if it's true

The story with the MTV special seems to remain unclear, the rumor was that it was too much for Tony to handle. But I’d think singing on a closed set would be easier for him than doing a huge show like these at Radio City!

Both shows were professionally recorded yes, thing is the special that will come from it will be a mix of both shows, and I’m thinking that’ll especially be the case with Tony. I saw him 4 times between August 2019 and March 2020 and he struggled horribly with the lyrics many times. So I’m wondering how that’ll end up.

What it is I’m really desperately seeking is just a straight thru recording, audio-video-anything of just the final August 5 show so I can have Tony’s full, final concert set. You seem very sweet I'm sorry you missed the show.

I don't think there is a fan recording out there at this time. We saw one tiny video snippet from the first night I think, but that's been it. My gut feeling is that people are trying to be respectful considering Tony's condition and even if someone did record it it's not going to be passed around widely.

The MTV show went ahead. It was just the audience that was cancelled Afaik . I think close friends and family attended.

I don't know if this means anything but on the celeb gossip IG account Deuxmoi somebody sent in a photo they took of Tony with Anderson Cooper on a bench in  NYC. Maybe they are friends but I did wonder if he is doing an interview with Tony. Which... Obviously Tony struggles with talking but maybe it is something? I have the photo if you want it. I don't know how to post it on here but if you have Instagram I will send it to you. Its not a great photo as its from far away but it was still nice to see him out and about.

I'm sorry I don't know of one, but I would bet that if there is any it might be more likely to circulate after the professional recording comes out. So maybe have to wait a little bit to find out.. good luck! Btw we love Tony!

@tonybennettfan hello sir or madam, welcome to the site! 

You are asking for a truly hard thing to achieve these days, especially in the era of bag checks and extra security at venues. If I read correctly, you are asking for a live audio recording of the TB&LG concerts that were done in early August? Those would only have been possible if fans had managed to sneak an audio recorder in that wasn’t a phone to those 2 concerts.

Recording of any kind was strictly prohibited in the rules for those NY shows , and attendees had to surrender their phones to a locked clear bag that they couldn’t unlock during the event as it was being recorded for eventual TV broadcast.

So the odds that a person managed to smuggle a PCM10 or other recorder to capture this history of those two performances are very slim.

In addition , I was not able to attend to test that theory myself as I live 3,000 miles away and was unable to secure tickets.

As a small consolation, I can tell you that I have recorded every single previous GagaBennett concert I’ve attended and two of his solo shows. I even got to hang out at the stage door and interview Tony briefly for Gagadaily back in 2014. 

My favorite live recording I’ve taken was of the Wiltern show, I managed to capture that one in its entirety for the world, and its hosted on my Soundcloud if memory serves. 

I saw Tony for the last time in Thousand Oaks in January 2020, and his memory issues were just starting to show themselves as he began repeating himself a good deal during the monologues. His singing voice was superb though. I did record that show in full as well.

In truth the biggest plus to this saga is that the 2 NY shows this month were recorded professionally by Tony’s people —- this means as a historical record they DO exist, but whether or not the public will see them both start to finish is another question.... since his health is a factor that question must be approached with the utmost respect.

However , @tonybennettfan , as I now reread your posts a thought comes to me...... 

1. You might enquire eventually if you can use a Freedom of Information act request to secure the knowledge if both shows were recorded and what steps you would need to take to pay for access to hear them or see them 

2. You might enquire if Tony’s management, I believe through his son Danny, if a deluxe edition DVD could be released or might be in the works for the two shows in their entirety for the public to enjoy 

3. Although this is not a politically correct view nor do I condone it out of respect for LG and TB; wait for the recordings to leak, as in time these things do have the potential to leak. 

4. Put out an open call on social media or in the papers in NYC for anyone with a recording of any kind of the event to contact you at a given burner phone or email address, whereupon you can then offer them a reward of some kind. 

I wish you truthfully the best of luck as I would sincerely love to hear these recordings as well .

I, too, have always managed to record every live show I’ve ever attended with the exception of the Satellite Ballroom Gaga concert in LA (but that was recorded live by BudLight so I still “have” it). But I know how you feel. 

I started in 2012 with Aretha Franklin and I just captured Roger Mcguinn of The Birds last month.

To be fair, i think things were never certain bc of his condition. They were waiting to see how he got through these shows. I think the plug could just as easily have been pulled after the first radio city night if things didn't go well. For instance, it was planned to have an audience for the MTV show up until pretty much that day. People were waiting to get tickets. They then decided to just have friends and family. 

I think the decision to call his touring a day was because of fears for his physical safety more than anything. I do think it was the right call.
