There are co-official languages in most of the European countries tbh.

Ah you're from Spain right?

Do you mean like catalán?

Yes, for example, I live in a region on northwest Spain called Galicia of near 3 million people. We speak Spanish but a regional language called Galician is official too, and children learn it at school. It also happens with Catalan, Basquian, and Valencian

I think also with the EU as a country could work.

I mean mean look at it

it's such a country. people can move within it freely and find jobs, each country cares about the other country's economy

and make up plans

the EU gets prices as a whole.

it's a country, unofficially.

Also it would be the most powerful country of all time.

Even though I posted in this thread before, I feel like I have to say that this would NEVER work. There are too many cultural differences and people would never agree to satisfy the needs of everyone.

From Croatia ? Welcome in EU. It's coming. Summer 2013 ?

I think the union of Northern European countries is a good idea.

On the subject, why are Europeans so against admitting Turkey to the EU?

On the one hand, we don't really have the same culture. Europe's basis are our greek, roman and christian common origins. On the other hand, Turkey isn't really geographically in Europe. And the fact the Turkey is in conflict with Greece about Cyprus does not help. Same with the Kurds issue (Human Rights). To sum up, they don't respect a lot of conditions requested.

;)

Yes, supposedly in July we should officially be part of the EU. :)

Eh, it isn't the Obama administration's call anyway. It is the people of Britian whose interests are important on whether EU membership is beneficial for them. If China said something like this about the US, I wonder what Americans would think.

Stand in the light, cast your shadow.

Can't people move freely in Europe anyways?

People walk into England and claim benefits so

I won't die, but I can't live without you

We can move freely in the Schengen Area. But the United Kingdom isn't a part of the area ...

I'm still completely against this idea. :dies:

Isn't that area just where you can move from country to country without the need for a passport?

If you wanted to go live in the UK, I think to go there without Visas and things you would need an EU passport but other than that you can go there no hassle.

Sorry. I didn't understand you were talking about emigration. :red:

You mean people from Europe who goes to the United Kingdom ? It seems it's not something bad for UK's economy. http://news.bbc.co.u...ics/6173804.stm And it's the same situation for the other european countries.

How many English came in France back in the 00's to buy houses and contribute to raise prices.
