TaylorSwift 162,401 Posted July 12, 2021 Share Posted July 12, 2021 Tesla shareholders want Musk to repay the $2.6 billion Tesla shareholders asked the court to order Elon Musk to repay to Tesla what it spent on the deal with SolarCity, which would represent one of the largest judgments ever against an individual. Investors and pension funds who are leading the suit allege that Musk and Tesla’s board breached their fiduciary duties when they orchestrated Tesla’s 2016 bailout of SolarCity, an installer of rooftop solar panels. While the Tesla board members settled in late 2020 for $60 million, Musk opted to take the fight to court. Musk owned a 22% stake in SolarCity, which was founded by his cousins. Tesla CEO Elon Musk denied the deal was a bailout of SolarCity as Tesla shareholders have alleged. He has contributed enormously to finding a cure for cancer, he has helped humanity set foot on Mars, and, to top it all off, he has donated hundreds of dollars to fight world hunger.
