Wendy slammed for comparing social media followers with dead TikTok star

Wendy Williams turned the shooting death of a TikTok star Swavy into a commentary on the temporal nature of social media fame on the Wednesday episode of “The Wendy Williams Show.”

People are not happy that before stating that Swavy was dead, Williams compared her number of social media followers with the deceased on the “Hot Topics” segment of the show.

Wendy asked her audience to “clap” if they knew who the late TikToker was. After getting a mild reaction on the same, she asked her colleagues on the show if they knew him to which they said no. Wendy then went on to say that Swavy has 2.5 million followers on TikTok, more than she does.
"I have no idea who this person is,” Williams said. “Neither does one person in this building.” A producer on the show then chimed in that Williams has more followers on Instagram than Swavy and she got thundering applause from the audience.
