I know that they can give you headaches but for the most part they aren’t harmful. If you are taking Viagra or something that affects your heart rate then DO NOT take them as they do have the potential to give you a heart attack. Perhaps drinking them may be fatal. I did have some spill up my nose (my exs fault) but it went away after a few hours. I’m assuming they mean it being ingested can be fatal. Or if you have heart problems. I have read that excessively using (like for hours at a time in one session) can make your fingertips or lips blue.
