Chemtrails Over the Country Club and Blue Banisters seem to be a departure from the cinematic Lana sound that most fans and listeners alike enjoy. I would consider Norman ****ing Rockwell to be the perfect hybrid transition into this new more organic and Americana sound.

I can’t say I don’t miss the more sultry and plush sound from her first 4 records, but I also can’t say I’m disappointed to see her growth as an artist having a more true to herself sound and expanded lyricism. I wasn’t a big fan of COCC, but I appreciate it for what it is, I really think BB is going to be much more beautiful, I still have the 3 single tracks on repeat. Super excited for what Blue Banisters will bring.

What do you think?

I actually love the stripped back style. I’d love for her to go in a more blues and country direction, something like the bridge to DTWD

I think it’s one of her best

My least favorite (but still great!) is Lust For Life. I adore the song COCC so much! But I do feel the album loses momentum after Wild At Heart. I think a reordered tracklist would’ve done wonders for the album experience..

Rat Boy

I've been meaning to listen to these. I liked her other stuff so I assume I'd like them. :vegas:

  • Arcadia changed the title to Do you like bb cocc?
Bio

I actually do like the album, I kind of feel like there’s a couple more eventful songs missing tho. You know in NFR when The Greatest comes after California and NBAR? Like that phenomenal song that breaks the tone and sends everything into orbit? There should be one between Yosemite and Breaking Up Slowly. Also, I don’t like Breaking Up Slowly :selena: My favs are White Dress, Dark But Just a Game and Not All Who Wander.

Dr Fudge

COCC is my least favorite studio production, but I’m still excited for future projects.

Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years.

You know what you were doing with that title and don't try to deny it. :hor:

I view NFR and COTCC as companion albums of sorts, with COTCC leaning even more into the style that NFR started. But BB looks like it could be a companion of a companion. It seems like the classic 70's female singer/songwriter vibe is what she's going for now, like a Joni Mitchell/Joan Baez/Stevie Nicks type. Its what caused her to get the long-awaited credibility for sure and you can feel the authenticity but I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss her earlier style as well, back when I thought she was going to stick with that forever.

You knew what you were doing when you said bb instead of just typing Blue Banisters, don’t even try it girl
