'Trauma Is The Ultimate Killer'

For me personally, it refers to how past negative events in peoples lives can linger on in their mental states later on. I wouldn't say that I personally have trauma, but I do feel pain mentally every now and then from past events like bullying. I am doing better now than I was last year though.

Yeah I agree with @27monster27

Its crazy how many she referenced her own trauma in this video and we didn’t really have any idea yet what it referred it.

Contrapoints

Trauma sets us back so much in ways that it takes years for some people to even process that something they've been through is traumatic. And even then, years to process that trauma once you recognise it for what it is. And then maybe one day, if you're lucky, learn how to heal from that trauma.

But for some people, they can never heal from their trauma, they can only treat or learn to just live with it. That's what she means when she says trauma is the ultimate killer.

It's something that can completely, utterly and permanently break you even if you do try your best to heal from it.

Trauma can deteriorate our mental state into a place of depression and leads to su*c*de

Trauma can cause us to self-sabbotage and ruin our lives, careers, friendships, etc and put us on a negative path

Trauma can cause people to self-medicate and use drugs, which ultimately can lead to death

Trauma can kill the hopes, dreams, plans, aspirations, meanings of life, relationships, everything a person has, if not actually kill the person who is experiencing it

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Trauma is an unfortunate, unwanted state that resulted from painful events, that stays for long later on as the impact of such events. Trauma stays for too long if not properly addressed and if not properly taken care of. It creates constant gloom and bleak point of view. It corrupts our soul. It steals our hope. It shatters the light we used to see in life. Trauma is ultimate killer of soul, figuratively, and eventually literally if no further action was taken to heal it.

Trauma is trying to bury pain instead of communicating it, forcing pain deep in your body and turning oneself into a prisoner.

She is a sexual assault survivor, duh. And the video makes it very clear she had to have an abortion because she got pregnant after the assault. I didn’t understand this at 15 but I understand it now

I feel that statement on a cellular level. Trauma is a slow killer, and it can carry a whole wide variety of weapons.

Do you hear that? It's poison.

I think the entire beginning of the MTN video references her sexual assault experience and her getting dropped from Def Jam

Imagine dropping LADY GAGA :air: I’m glad Interscope has her, and they give her plenty of creative freedom

It kills your inner self little by little, like a little fire and the more you let it, it grows into a wildfire until it destroys yourself and you can die. Only thru asking for help the fire can grow a little less, either way, u will never be yourself as some pieces of yourself died with the fire

Given the context "Clinical psychology tells us arguably that trauma is the ultimate killer.Memories aer not recycled like atoms and particles in quantum physics. they can be lost forever."  I think she says that trauma can kill/annihilate  memories forever unlike material things in universe that cannot be destroyed, just transformed.
