Claiming people who are calling out issues of race is a “victim mentality” ain’t it and it reveals where your intentions are

I agree when its legitimate

But u see a bunch of sh*t especially on social media that is just a constant reach. Sometimes ppl literally just want to find a reason to be offended and act woke and this OP is literally a perfect example of that

I’m 100% not disagreeing with you on this. But when people start claiming “victim mentality” it’s right up there with “race card” in the ever growing pile of red flags :stalkga:

Maybe she’s telling the truth but singing about being a slave master will haunt her for the rest of her life. She brought this to herself

I agree in principal. But depends on the situation

I dont believe in what appears to be pre-programmed responses ppl seem to have especially on anything that becomes politicized (even if it shouldnt be) because constantly make it about sides.

Every situation is its own situation with different factors and dynamics and i form an opinion on a case by case basis not because of what sounds more politically correct in general in peoples eyes cuz tbh sometimes some ppl are very superficial in jumping straight into claiming something isnt politically correct but dont even bother to look more into the context of a situation (In this case Iggy being in different lighting and slightly tanned)

This. Is. Rediculous.

like someone else said. White people tan- not every white person looks like they are from Norway. She has a black wig on- blacK people don’t naturally have straight black hair. If they do, its because they, themselves have a black Wig or have gotten it straightened.

People literally sit around and wait for the next thing to get offended about.

On topic, I did think she was a lightskinned black girl in the OP. While she mad have used her regular foundation, she can also be using heavy bronzer and contour to achieve this “exotic” look. The thing is as time has gone on, the lines with these issues has become almost too blurred.
I didn’t care for this considering Iggy has almost always had an identity crisis (right down to her delivery being nearly identical to Eve, who is a black woman) And I was also put off to her being surrounded by muscular gay men. Ever since she also tweeted that she gave the gays everything they wanted and still let one of her singles flop I’ve also been pretty tuned out of her. She very much obviously desperately wants to be in the spotlight and I wouldn’t be surprised if this is another way of getting into that said spotlight.

love her breaking that nda in support of brit tho!

Totally, I quickly saw the pic, and thought it was Nicki Minaj for a split second. This is not normal and it needs to stop. Embrace your race, embrace being white, there's nothing wrong with being white. Stop trying to be something you're not. There's a limit seriously, enough!

But Nicki herself notoriously  wears skin lightening make up, and blonde wigs. So does beyonce, and countless other darker celebrities. However, I actually agree with you. Celebrities talk about self empowerment and being proud of your authentic self, yet look nothing like themselves. They don’t wear their own hair, they don’t look their natural skin tone. Kylie Jenner is a white woman. Yet she has had work done to look nothing like her authentic self, and to probably look like her half Armenian sisters.

There has been a big push in the industry to look racially ambiguous to gain a broader fan base. Mariah Carey probably the biggest benefactor of all time- whites/blacks/Latinos tried to claim her early on, when she is really a mixture of all three. Ariana Grande, Xtina, Rihanna have all had benefited off being racially or ethnically ambiguous. It gains a broader fan base. Light skin girls want to be darker, dark skin girls wanna be lighter. I can’t wait for the day when celebrities truly are their authentic selves.

I think it’s important to note black women having to brighten themselves up is completely different than White women looking more ethnic now. There are NUMEROUS factors that play into this in terms of marketing and Eurocentric beauty standards. The Kardashians are white women who are the prime example of getting work done to have features that are deemed unattractive on black women and are big reason as to why this discussion has been sparked - the double standards of beauty on white/black women

Please stop. White people tan. It's summer. The sun exists.

Y'all are so obsessed with race and cancel culture, it's actually contra-productive to the conversation.

Blackfishing is just another propaganda tool to divide people even further.

I don't wanna sound ignorant, racism is a serious topic, but this victim mentality AIN'T IT.

All of this. White people get tan and fake hair and nails and big lips and ass. Black people lighten their skin, get nose jobs, wear blonde wings, etc. We ALL share each other's culture.

It's not like Iggy was wearing cornrows or some ****. Rap and hip hop has evolved since the 90s. Let Iggy do rap and let Nicki/Cardi/Meghan/Doja/etc do pop sometimes. People need to stop being offended over every single thing Jesus! :saladga::saladga:
