TaylorSwift 162,435
One of Tesla’s new Model S Plaid electric vehicle burst into flames while the owner was driving, just 3 days after the $130K, top-of-the-range car was delivered following its June launch. It was 1 of only 250 delivered. The driver was initially not able to get out of the car because its electronic door system failed, prompting the driver to "use force to push it open" The car continued to move for about 35 feet to 40 feet (11 to 12 meters), before becoming totally engulfed in flames. "This is a brand new model. We are doing an investigation. We are calling for the S Plaid to be grounded, not to be on the road until we get to the bottom of this," lawyer said. Elon Musk touted the performance version of its Model S sedan as being "faster than any Porsche, safer than any Volvo" at a launch event last month source source https://store.taylorswift.com
A MESS 3,938
erm, I'm no luddite but...I thought once or twice about the "electronic door system failed" and believe me I don't know if I wanna be in the hands of a machine if it's a life or death event Генерал Марина Абрамовић
harispilton 503
Tesla is just not as ahead technology-wise as they are claiming to be. I understand Elon having deadlines, wanting to push sales and also work on branding and marketing, but lately Tesla focuses on quantity, rather than quality. Same reason we don't see Cybertrucks yet, or the very hyped Tesla Roadster. please ban this account ty

Bloody hooker 6,445
I’m a Tesla fan, but not a Tesla Fanboy (aka I don’t worship everything Tesla does). I just want to clarify what batteries are used in the new 2021 Model S’, and their manual releases after a electronic failure. The batteries used in all versions (as far as I know) of the 2021 Models S’ are 18650 battery cells, and not the 4680 cells. The manual release for the driver and front passenger in 2021 Model S’ is located directly in front of the power window switches and directly below the electronic door release. I’m not ignore what happened to the driver, but I’m just informing people before anyone jumps to conclusions. This mutual gaze was a “longing to touch” or a "pre-coitus" stare. JusKeepBreathin 19,311
Cars catch on fire all the time, but because it's a Tesla everyone gets bent out of shape. Ford recalled 450,000 F-150's because they catch on fire. That doesn't even count the Ecoboost engines which also catch on fire. It's not about Elon, though. This is fair criticism, which any car maker would expect to receive in the same circumstances. When other manufacturers have safety issues, it's headline news- usually on a much large scale since millions of owners are potentially affected. HEARTSTOP 3,154
The only strange thing here is: why would they remove the manual door lock option? Other than that, electrical things catch on fire sometimes, it's normal. IDGAF
