Richard Branson announces he will head into space on Virgin Galactic's July 11 test flight as Astronaut 001.

Virgin Galactic's Richard Branson is planning to beat Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos being the 1st to blast off into space.

Bezos had announced in June that he would be heading to space on July 20 on Blue Origin's New Shepherd spacecraft, but Branson now appears to have him beat by 9 days.

Branson said in a statement :
'After more than 16 years of research, engineering, and testing, Virgin Galactic stands at the vanguard of a new commercial space industry, which is set to open space to humankind and change the world for good, '
'I'm honoured to help validate the journey our future astronauts will undertake and ensure we deliver the unique customer experience people expect from Virgin. '

I think in Gaga‘s case, NASA or whoever said “we’ll cover all expenses for you to perform in space”

with these guys it seems they said “take my money and send me up to space”

idk I could be wrong

What do you want a bunch of broke people to do to help the poor exactly? Give money we don't have?

As for 'literally fed these rich people money' - not voluntarily, Amazon is too big of a monopoly, unless you're fine going off and living in the woods, you're not given any real choice here... As for what do we want - fair taxation is a good start :vegas:

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!

I'm actually glad she never went to space. I wasn't even excited about it when it was supposed to happen. Like okay I guess it would've been interesting but I didn't see the point of it, apart from the promo and exposure.

NASA money is government money, so taxpayers would pay for this:bear:

edit: she was supposed to fly on Virgin Galactic ship, so this Richard Branson would pay for this source
