Tbh any large and dedicated fanbases always end up with some extreme, angry, weirdos and they're always the ones to talk to loudest on social media I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin. Sure they make entitled demands occasionally but for the most part, I haven't seen them send death threats or insults to artists or producers. I was playing The Last of Us Part II and the discourse around the character Abby is way more toxic than anything I've seen little monsters do. They sent death threats to the actress playing her and said a lot of problematic things about women who do not conform to the traditional feminine gender ideal. They had the most epic scenes in the entire manga to animate (the warhammer fight + the whole battle there with all the titans, Armin's nuke and Levi vs the beast in the forest) and they screwed them all up completely.
