I know you were defending her but it's not gonna stop the "is she pregnant" discourse so you're just adding to it.

i understand what you’re saying, bc either way people are going to comment on it despite how many people try and speak in her defense.

Such a travesty that a light hearted thread celebrating this stunning look had to be overun with misogynists critiquing her body :fthis:

You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.

It's literally one of the most commonly cited and recognized form of body shaming. :huntyga:

I thought we all learned not to assume pregnancy based on a women's waistline as children but apparently body people are raised by wolves. It's like common decency and also misidentifying weight gain as pregnancy is an immensely common trope in so many comedy series and films.

Its used to body shame, yes, but it's not always body shaming.  Where are we at that looking early pregnant is an attack?  It's not, it depends where it's coming from.  Just an "oh, maybe" isn't a crime in my opinion.  That's not assuming, that's not misidentifying, that's just noticing a bump that may or may not be a result of pregnancy.  If Entertainment Tonight runs headlines on it, that's different than a comment on an forum where most people notice a bump and think maybe she's finally having that baby she always wanted.

Pregnancy is a beautiful thing, it's a normal observation about a normal thing that happens to women.  Personally I avoid it because of how it's perceived, but I think it's silly to villainize it.

If she's pregnant, then :vegas:.  If she's not, then no surprise.  It doesn't matter to me either way, but I notice things like most humans.

Angelina Stefania

Just like the time a few years ago she wore a similar dress to what Cher wore in Mermaids.

Actually we got a good few pages into this thread b4 somebody brought it up and then that opened the floodgates. And yes, they will say it regardless. They just want somebody else to have the nerve to say it first.

It has nothing to do with demonizing pregnancy, it's just about being sensitive. People gain  weight for a lot of reasons. Maybe someone miscarried or lost a family member and is experiencing depression.  Maybe they're infertile. Imagine wanting to have a child and being unable to, and people are commenting that you "look pregnant". That would be really hurtful for some people.

It's just not tactful to comment on it until the person themselves confirms they are pregnant. There are also a variety of reasons why someone might not disclose that they are pregnant. It's a complex issue.

People can comment what they want but it is a sensitive topic.

I agree with that.  And yeah, not that long ago there would have been closeups on magazines and tabloid shows and a panel discussing it, and that's wrong and invasive. But when I saw the picture I knew someone would bring it up, and I don't think it's THAT bad.
