The woman was arrested, but now the Tour has dropped the case. "We are withdrawing our complaint. This story has been blown out of proportion but we wish to remind everyone of the safety rules on the race," said Tour director . "If you come to the Tour, you hold your kid, you hold your pet and don't cross the road carelessly. She faces up to a year in prison after causing the injuries of 21 riders in one of the worst-ever crashes in the history of the Tour de France, The female spectator was spotted leaning into the path of the speeding peloton, holding a sign. German rider Tony Martin brushed into the sign and fell to the ground, with others behind him following suit. Police say they have launched a criminal investigation. She didnt do it on purpose, just give her a light punishment. She wanted to show the sign in front of cyclists on camera and was stupid about it. Her biggest mistake is fleeing the scene instead of staying and showing remorse and offering to pay for any damage to bikes and medical expenses for any injuries. She might not have even been charged with a crime if she had done that. Her biggest penalty would be a criminal record which would be seen by future employers. Who would hire a person proven to be stupid when there are other applicants with clean records. It's all so tragic, but there needs to be consequences and I hope not jail time.
