Vaccinations may greatly reduce transmissions but theres breakthru cases that presumably can also lead to spread and variants will also put this to the test even further. And even if ur not symptomatic its not fully clear just how often a transmission may still occur by fluke. Remember that if ur infected u have some viral load. Even if that load is a lot lower because of immunity, presumably the risk of spreading it is not 0% especially with these more transmissible variants

 

As we see in Israel now for example and in Seyshells for examples, high vaccination rates alone are not ending transmission. The pandemic is hard to control so anything that helps reduce transmission rate even a little i say is worth it despite some degree of inconvinience or discomfort in my opinion @PartySick @TimisaMonster

All restrictions will be lifted in the UK on 19th July. Including masks. I won't be wearing them after the 19th

Thank you! But unfortunately people who think this way are sadly in the minority. Just look at the pro replies from people here, they think all of us vaxed people are DEMONIC EVIL PIECES OF TRASH, even though we've complied and obeyed the procedures for well over a year. I'm living my pre 2020 life whether they like it or not

I have a friend in the Isle of Man in the UK and they’ve been covid free for nearly a year and still are. I’m so jealous 

Even Australia who was sooo in control of the virus is seeing an increase of cases in Sydney. This is NOT over and people need to understand that. And i get that we're tired. I've been stuck home away from my partner and friends for almost the entire past 1.5 years and I'm losing my mind officially but I'd rather that than contribute to more damage to myself and everyone in the world. The faster  we acknowledge that we still need to be alert and attentive the faster we get out of this sh!t storm.

By 76% i meant those eligeable for a shot (12 years old and older)... for general population its 66% if u count kids that cant get one

Sure, but vaxxed people who refuse to abide by the very simple act of wearing a mask and pretend that they're above the pandemic now are also part of the problem. We can live our life while staying safe and not acting like ignorant idiots.

Let's face it, covid isn't going anywhere. But it hasn't become endemic on the level of other coronaviruses or influenza viruses. Our collective population needs time (and vaccines) for our immune systems to dampen the damage covid can do to a single person (and therefore a population). The virus itself also needs time for a less lethal variant to become the main strain.

The problem with providing a time table is the last coronavirus pandemic hit before modern virology. New influenza viruses usually take about two years to become endemic (like the seasonal flu) but we have nothing to properly compare covid to because the last coronavirus hit in the 1800s.

Until then, it is SO much safer to get your immune protection from a vaccine than from the virus and you can mitigate any danger of catching or spreading the virus by wearing a mask in public and giving people space.

That is such an exageration. All were saying is caution is still in order because vaccines dont fully prevent spread necessairily and may be a good idea to continue even if its nit comfortable

 

I dont remenber anyone calling anyone trash or putting the blame on pandemic on vaxxed ppl who no longer want to wear masks

We’re only at 46 for eligibility bc the shots are for 12+ as well.

Iconic behavior right there. I’m the same. I’m going crazy but we need to learn to not be selfish bc that could hurt the people around us, not just family but strangers as well. It’s crazy

I know the highest states are like around 70% or whatever. I know some highly resistant States in South are barely hitting 40% but i didnt think National average was that low

Pls I have my Pfizer shot and have for months. I’m still not gonna go maskless. Keep being selfish sis. Just know you’re part of the reason we’re still in the pandemic

Yeah some states are pretty much at good herd immunity level but some have like 30%.
 

here in Texas 47% have had at least one does with 40% fully vaxxed. Not surprised it’s so low considering the huge amount of antivaxxers

46% fully vaccinated and 55% with at least one dose, I believe.
