It made it sound like they are useless against it they dont work as good but still offer some protection Well technically there’s no vaccine that prevents specifically the delta. Like you can take a flu vaccine that prevents on strain and can kinda help with others but you didn’t take one for that second strain, just the first. If that makes sense

I dont get what ur saying lol Dependent* omg I hate my phone tbh. but you can’t be dependent on masks like you said. It’s just a preventative. Your immune system won’t notice a difference or get any weaker bc of a mask. The only way it could is chemical wise if you take pills or ingest any kind of stuff that causes a chemical or physical dependency.

Delta variant is exponentially spreading. It accounts for 95% of all infections. We are having cases doubling every week running through the unvaccinated. However this isn't resulting in alot more hospital admissions. They are still very very low. About a 5% increase.
Morphine Prince 109,663
I don’t think anyone in this thread has mentioned that the CDC OPENED THE FLOODGATES for variants to spread. Missouri is already being overrun by the Delta variant. Why am I mentioning this? The CDC said FULLY VACCINATED people don’t have to wear a mask with other vaccinated individuals or in public EXCEPT for large gatherings and public transportation. However, this led to policy changes by businesses where we are just supposed to BELIEVE everyone not wearing a mask is fully vaccinated. MANY are not and are obviously lying and will be the ones to spread any new variants. The CDC KNEW this would happen and they still made a recommendation that led to changes in mask policies. He's in palliative care right now (they're still treating him but also making sure he's comfortable) and I'm one of his caretakers. My biggest fear right now is one of these selfish, careless c*nts will pass covid (of any variant) to me and I'll pass it to him despite being vaccinated, a clean freak, and masked in public and when I'm around him at all times. I just don't get the people who whine about the discomfort of a face mask when literal lives could be saved or lost based on their decision to wear one Whimsical bitch
HIM820 1,874
So I already adopted the rule that going forward, if I feel a little sick (especially during flu season) I’m going to wear a mask to protect other people around me as much as I can. However, where I live almost every store has said if you are already vaccinated you no longer need to wear a mask. I still do sometimes but I always feel it just makes me look like an anti vaxxer…

Magui 2,654
Well... i still use it... And to be honest at this point, I don't even know when will be safe not wearing a mask unfortunately.

Or at least that’s what they say. The vaccine protects you from getting very sick or dying but you can still catch and pass it on to someone.

I had covid before but I’ve seen people who’ve gotten it twice and it even be worse the second time as well. I have asthma and my mom has asthma, lupus, and a thyroid issue which could mess up her immune system even more. my stepdad is forgetting his mask on purpose every time but my mom keeps them on her and he’s like “idk why your even carry those” like???
