The Fame 4,192
Haven't read responses on this thread yet so sorry if I'm saying something already mentioned, but I'm honestly surprised people have turned on her this early into her career (for something arguably minor in the grand scheme). Usually that happens after many years/several albums.

(also, not saying billie did this. i know she apologized, but let’s be real. you can’t be posting selfie’s says after a scandal, acting like everything’s fine. more could’ve been done on her part and that’s why some fans are upset)
Bat 6,162
Tf, she was 13 when she posted something that might have been interpreted wrong, stop criticizing others from your privileged ass with you expensive iPhone and go live your life, jeez I can't stand all those so called ''woke'' millenials constantly pointing fingers. I'm saying we have a generation whose foolishness is recorded every day and their judgement is not always good. I don't think they deserve to have their life ruined (listen to bari weiss's new podcast to see how old teenage tweets can come back to completely ruin somebody's life and their family's life) or to have it follow them forever. Billie apologised. What more do her fans want? They are just being mini tyrants now, getting off on the power of being judge and jury. This is the online culture they have been raised in and I think its very wrong. People, especially teenagers, should be allowed to make mistakes without it ruining their lives. Teenagers say stupid things all the time to try to look cool. I'm sure you wouldn't come up pristine if you were recorded at certain times of your life and compared to what the expectations are now. Its not difficult to find past "problematic" quotes from any celebrity. 😇
JanStan 574
Lets cancel her for her apology and posting a selfie that she misses us! A new low. The worst part of cancel culture is that it undermines the times when people should truly be held accountable for current, impactful, bad behavior. I’ll be streaming her new album even though I normally wouldn’t just because I find things like this so annoying.
HuffsAhoy 7,433
Most of her fans are Gen Z anyway and all they do is look for stuff to be offended about; this isn't shocking. They're the new Satanic Panic crowd. You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.
