No it was about re-recording it instead of trying to get her masters back since it would be super expensive, even for tay.

They're business people defending their interests, no one's there to defend artistry and integrity. They just say it after their communication team told them to do so cause the fanbase need to support the re-recordings only for the business move to fully work.

I 100% agree. She found out the $ she can make on re-recording all her albums and can be re-nominated for Grammys and wasn’t going to give that up….I mean come on, the girl had like 8 variants of a vinyl and I think the only difference was the album cover? She doesn’t care about fans….her entire group of girl friends disappeared after BLM starting occurring….why? Likely Because they were all white and that would be bad press and it did start a few rumbling on gossip sites. She is one of the most fame, money hungry and honestly pretending to be a victim of anyone in the industry. Everything about her is manufactured….her dad bought a label so she could get a deal….she didn’t make it on her own merits. She comes from money and is only interested in money. She just has a great marketing team and is good at pretending —her fan base is a whole other issue. But I will say 1989 is a killer pop album….can’t deny a good album regardless of how you feel about the artist.

He collaborated with Big Machine and a private fund to buy them out from under her. She's not going to then pay him and the people she feel betrayed her, whom she trusted because they signed her when she was 15, to get them back. I understand that choice. She washed her hands of them all.

Yes and no though, because I think you’re underselling just how expensive a process this re-recording actually is. The easier option would’ve been the former, but she is trying to make a point atm.

Well Ariana fired him for a reason in 2016. Too bad she couldn't find a good manager to replace him. He's a douche but he knows what how to manage an artist's trajectory.

We know why she fired him, because he was meddling in her relationships. He's has done other stuff I don't like either. Like when he basically convinced Ariana to put ghostin on thank u, next, a song she can't even sing live without becoming too emotional. Theres a reason she didn't want it on there and I just don't like stuff like that, whatever the career move is. There are plenty of savvy managers who hustle their artists, but something about him just reminds me of old school business men who were found to be corrupt and using manipulative tactics. I'm sure Selena saw and heard stuff Justin would tell her too which would probably be repeated to Taylor.

Get your story straight, Borchetta didn’t have funding to start his own label so he approached Swift and her parents making the offer to recruit her if her father buys a 3% stake in the label, before it even existed. Because HE needed funding and he also saw the potential with her. Her father didn’t “buy a label to get her signed”.

At the end of the day, she got where she is because of privilege. We are on a stan site for a woman who hustled her way to the top…the same cannot be said about swift.
