They don’t give you time off, the job is very isolating and physically exhausting. The worst part of it is the long hours on your feet. You’re working for 10-11 hours, about 4 days a week. They’re very strict about clocking in on time. You can clock in and out 5 minutes early and/or late, but beyond that you’ll lose an hour of unpaid time off. What made me quit was the inflexible weekly schedule and the commute. 😫 By the way, every Amazon warehouse location is different. What ultimately makes or breaks the place is the people who run it and the culture they create within the workplace. I’ve read a lot of negative things about working at Amazon’s fulfillment center, but Staten Island’s did not have any of those horror stories. But I bet it is accurate. ita crazy bc when I started the job it was great. I loved it and I had no mental issues and minimal physical issues. But the overtime is brutal there. Guest Posted June 23, 2021 Share Posted June 23, 2021 My brother worked at Amazon. He was so dedicated to getting there. He took two buses that took almost 3 hours to get him to and from work because nobody was available to drive him there. They fired him, but I don't remember the reason.
