Sounds cruel but: at some point why not just deny treatment of people who get covid, yet don’t want to get the vaccine? Like oh, COVID’s not a threat? Sure we can play that game :billie:

I somewhat get that but then that brings up so mamy other ethical issues. Should smokers also be denied treatment for COPD or lung cancer, or alcoholics for liver desiese, or obese individuals for heart desiese or diabetes

So much of our medical strain comes from conditions that werent purely genetic but where choices played at least a role if not the sole reason

My parents wont let me get it

Even though im terrified of needles I kinda want to get it even though im not at the at risk age

My mom and dad think its all fake and the last shot I had was for the flu like 6 years ago

Sis if you're eligible, get it. You don't have to have any information except your name, it's free w/o providing any insurance. You can get it almost everywhere, just slip into a store in your free time haha

Ma you need to sneak in an appointment - this isn’t a joke and your parents are absolutely delusional

It might also help protect your parents, because you also can't carry it to them. At the very least it protects you.

People need to realize it's not just conservatives and maga types that aren't getting vaccinated. There's a lot of people who just don't know any better, there's a LOT of misinformation and fear mongering that is affecting people.

My mother voted for Biden and doesn't want the vaccine. It's very frustrating but I'm not able to convince her :fail:

Honestly thats maybe only half of the holdouts...

The other half of ppl i know that havent gotten it dont necessairily believe conspiracy theories or that its dangerous but they are unbothered or complacent. They arent against it per say but dont see the urgency to put the effort to go get vaccinated either and have to put up with  sore arm for 2 days and potential other mild side effects

This is why i hope where i live they start to throw in incentives for the ppl on the fence to go... maybe the ones most against it will never take it but theres a sizable portion i think isnt getting it that with a nudge they would

Here in Canada were stalling now at 76% of eligeable (12 and older)... we are gonna struggle to pass 80% it seems... but maybe with incentives we can hit 85%

Like on the margin and spread rate, and extra 5% could make a huge difference and be the different between having herd immunity vs not especially with the more contagious variants

Give the excess vaccines to other countries who desperately need it and let natural selection run its course.

At some point you have to put your foot down and stop babying people.

We need to start giving the vaccines to countries that actually want them. See how fast these clowns switch when they realize they won’t have vaccines available at every corner store.  :huntyga:

It's interesting that it seems to be the southern/rural states that have the lowest percentage of vaccinated people. If you're refusing to get vaccinated (barring medical exemption), you're really only putting yourself at risk. If you want to roll the dice with your health, be my guest.

"It's just a bad flu," meanwhile there are COVID-19 survivors who have lingering, unexplained negative health effects several months after recovering.

Even though most Brazilians are stupid right now and we have a clown president, I think we will be able to surpass that goal. We just hit the 40% mark and are still on the 50-59 age group.

We are actually at 30% vaccinated with the first shot
