Our biggest enemy is us, but we don’t pop a vaccine. :interestinga:

Been a cuff touple, a puff bupple, a tough couple of years.

The vaccine messaging campaign has been really poor. A lot of low information communities (not necessarily in the Republican use of ‘low information’) are not receiving the outreach they need to dispel years of entrenched beliefs

What a mess. Misinformation in the US is rife! I was concerned it'd be the same here in the UK, but the level of uptake is surpassing everyone's estimates. Looks like we will land in the 90% area. When over 50's were offered there jabs it hit 96% uptake which is amazing.

This is another good point. Minority populations have been subjected to inhumane medical treatments throughout history, so its natural to have that fear again. This government has not done a good job at dispelling such rightful doubts.

I know right? I got vaccinated in April. It’s been over 2 months and nothing has happened thankfully.

I got my final dose last week. Still waiting for my arm to become magnetic :sis:

You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.

Just wait until the microchip finishes integrating with your nervous system and you develop telekinetic abilities and a tail :billie:

Here in Canada were at 66% (76% for those over 12) and its now stalling. The remaining 20% to 24% of adults dont seem to want it

76% is a good place to be, though.

People are ridiculous.

At the end of the day, no one wants to do their own research. My roommates literally listen to what Facebook says. They didn’t exactly follow any of the CDC guidelines either tho, besides wearing a mask. Always had someone over the house, or going over someone’s house. They just don’t want to because they don’t trust it…yet when I ask if they have done any research, they say no, they are waiting to hear what happens? Stupidity.

your parents are refusing something that could save your life or make a sickness less severe and it helps everyone else, too.

I am not sure of the exact details but from what I read, if you’re a minor, you only need an adult to come with you when getting Covid vaccines. Doesn’t have to be your parent.

If you don’t look under 12, I heard some places don’t even ask anything if you show up by yourself. I would try going to 1-2 places by yourself if I were you, worst case you get rejected. If you have an adult friend or relative they could come with you too.

I hope the CDC relaxing mask use for vaccinated individuals will get people to get vaccinated.

Plus I've seen a lot of ads encouraging people to get vaccinated so maybe that will keep reminding people. I don't know who's left but at least by the Fall most young people in college will have to get vaccinated (a lot of private schools are requiring it).

But July 4th might be too optimistic at this point.

Here in the UK we've had 80% plus with one vaccine and just over 60% with both and still we live with these awful masks and social distancing...

Its for percentage for 1 shot but i found it the more relevant number in the context of people willing to get it

But it was going up quickly up until about 72% like 1% a day then suddenly started stalling. Now 1st shots are rising like 0.2% a day :deadbanana:

I was hoping wed reach at least 80% to 85% but that past group of ppl is gonna be tough
