I haven't watched the original nor do I plan to watch this one but I think it's good that they're differentiating it from the original. It's not like people who were fans of the original are gonna be satisfied with this show anyway, might as well target new audiences.

i dont see the link between BLM and people who were born wealthy in a tv show. I don't see the link between glorification of wealth, and showing characters born wealthy in a tv show. Sensitivity will kill art

Who said this is art? It's a television show for an american network.

I mean I’m sure their will still be instances of the characters flaunting their wealth based on certain storylines but it won’t be the main plot anymore

So this show expects to make some kind of statement by making the audience believe rich people give a f*ck about anything but themselves and tax credits? Who is this helping exactly? Pls this has to be a big joke. :ladyhaha:

I can just imagine a group of writers sitting around a table going, “but like, what if we get canceled? I know! Let’s add BLM to an interview hear and there. The poor brown people will love that.”

They’re born in wealthy families but unlike the original characters which lived their high society lifestyle, the new characters won’t be glorifying their wealth and the show is most likely targeting other topics than excessive parties and buying haute couture every other scene

I get it. This show basically put The Fame on the charts.

Right now they are going to serve Stupid Love. Meh...
