FfFfFfFF 58,072 Posted June 19, 2021 Share Posted June 19, 2021 Drone footage shows the migrating wild Asian elephants sleeping in a forest in Xiyang Township in Jinning District of Kunming, capital of southwest China's Yunnan Province on June 7. The local government has deployed 14 drones to track the migrating herd and mobilized 510 people and over 150 vehicles in efforts to block roads and steer the elephants southwest. The herd has been making its way northward through China, for the past 15 months. But this nap is the first time observers have seen the whole herd sleeping at once. Usually, some of the elephants stand guard while the others snooze. As the elephants continue their progress, authorities are trying to clear a path for them. They’ve also left out two tons of food.
