LateToCult 41,831
The South and West regions had the largest growth rates since 2010, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. More than 331 million people now live in the U.S., and many Americans have flocked West and South since 2010, according to the first set of 2020 census population data released Monday by the U.S. Census Bureau. The country's growth rate since the 2010 census was 7.4% – much lower than the 2000-2010 rate of 9.7% and the "second-slowest in U.S. history," according to acting Census Bureau Director Ron Jarmin. But there was big growth in certain regions. The population in the South grew 10.2% since 2010, while the West was close behind at 9.2%, according to the bureau's data. The Northeast (4.1%) and Midwest (3.1%) grew at much slower rates. Top 10 states for growth: Spoiler 10. South Carolina Population growth: 10.66% 2020 population: 5,118,425 9. I haven’t looked into more stats on this but I think it’s safe to assume the biggest driving factors for this were climate, natural scenery, and tech. Why tf would anyone CHOOSE to live in Florida Let's hope it's moderate/left people invading swing states there's more left leaning people in the US but we have a hard time winning the presidency or a house in congress because all the blue people live in a handful of states while all the reds live in sparsely populated but numerous states. Many New Yorkers who are sick of the cold prefer Florida for its warmth and beaches Personally I’ll be moving to Arizona later this year

Hoping I am able to buy a house in Raleigh before Apple moves in and the market jacks up even more than it already is You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love. HONNNNEEYYY (non-derogatory), people travel to Florida for their holidays, it's considered nice. Florida is in the top 3 states I would consider moving to if I decide to stay in the US after graduating. RAMROD 117,010
We just bought different houses in Austin, Dallas and Arlington. This was the reason me and husband were in Texas last March. Because these places are showing signs to turn into another Silicon Valley. Lots of my peers have done it before me and encouraged me to do the same, and I did. Gotta get these good houses while available in low prices. Cos when the boom happen, it is already too late for owning a property there, all you get will be leftovers or newer buildings that is usually built haphazardly. Weather - we've hit the time of year where there's a severe thunderstorm every single afternoon. Like, hail and threat of tornados severe plus the hurricane threat that, thanks to climate change, starts earlier each year and lasts longer and the air is so damp here it makes hot days suffocating and the few cold days are bone chilling. It's overrated Beaches - overrated there are things that give you cancer that are more fun than sitting in the scorching heat while salty air is blasted into your eyes. They are nice at night though Amusement parks - unamusing mega-petri dishes where people from all over the world conglomerate to swap exotic germs. Overpriced playgrounds is more like it. Even with a Florida resident discount they're too high imo. Brunch - you can eat anywhere Cruises - see amusement parks with DeSantis at the helm here cruises are even less safe now Gay scene - for every gay there's 1000 rednecks, each with the potential to spawn a "Florida man/woman" headline I definitely just hate it because I was born here and grew up in a red county. I'm not blind to my negative bias but I stand by it firmly Whimsical bitch

Definitely more left people. Look at the pandemic alone. Huge exodus’s out of CA and NY to more rural places like Utah and Montana and Texas. There’s slowly starting to be a sprawl across the country for left folk but I doubt it’ll be quick
