For those who don't know, it literally says in the SMB2 manual that "it is a boy that thinks its a girl." I have a theory that Nintendo purposely doesn't include her as a playable character in their games anymore because they don't want that question to be brought up formally. They do have genders. And they have egg groups as well. Two Pokémon need to be in the same egg group as opposite genders, or with a ditto to reproduce at the daycare.
