Airline Excutives Return Bonuses After Public Scruitiny Following Bailout

Canadas largest Airline AirCanada received Bailout money yet payed out $10M in executive bonuses to which resulted in intense public scruitiny

 

Although the bailout money is in the form of loans that must be payed back not a giveaway, the fact the company struggled and begged for help then payed out that money ubderstandably did not sit well with people and the finance minister herself called it "innapropriate"

 

Furthermore airlines did benefit from the business wage subsity that payed 75% of wages for a short time for industries hard hit by pandemic and that support unlike the bailout does not have to ve payed back so they still received some free tax payers money
