Brazil is importing a record amount of natural gas largely from the US as the Nations struggles to keep the lights on as a severe drought persists

 

Nearly 75% of Brazils power comes from hydro electricity. Weaker production from dams has resulted in a maxing out of natural gas plants to try and compensate to make up the shortfall

 

The drought is the worst in 91 years nearly a century
