I did, I live in such a society (in Europe). I would be obnoxious to say I am happy with it. It doesn’t  consider the workers that migrate for work while their countries are being exploited. It doesn’t consider the effects on the other parts of the world.

It's funny how celebrities (I'm talking more about actors and people at music industry) think they know about everything when lots of them didn't even went to college (much of them didn't even finished highschool), they just read about topics on social media. The worst part is that there's people who give them attention and think they are right... but at the same time they don't care or critize people who actually STUDY, RESEARCHED AND WORK ON THOSE TOPICS: scientists, economists, sociologists, doctors, etc.

Some optimists have been talking about shorter working hours and less work in general since beggining of industrial revolution and automation

 

But this will never happen because the way the economy works, it pushes ppl to not only want to consume more but also need to consume more as new luxuries in time become so integrated in everyday life they end up becomint necessities (ex: Cellphones, internet service, cars or other transportation)

 

So while technology keeps increasing the output of goods and services per worker and person, our consumption keeps matching that increase in productivity in turn forcing us to keep working long hours anyway
