Artists are not taking advantage of the streaming era

The more into the streaming era we goes on I realise that artists are not fully taking advantage of the streaming era. They are a number of artists that are withholding songs/albums from streaming platform which can be detrimental because take Cher for example - a lot of her 70s/80s albums are not on the platform which may mean people may go looking for illegal downloads. Bonus tracks is also a problem because they are loads of b-sides/bonus tracks that haven’t appeared on any streaming service. Artists should be putting their whole past discography including bonus tracks and b-sides onto the services. They are not logical reason why bonus tracks/albums should not be on the streaming services.

Most bonus tracks are exclusives with Target or Japanese markets because they sign deals with them, they can't just decide to put them on streaming or it would breach the deal. That's why Love Me Right isn't on Spotify.

Streaming is the easiest way for artists to upload demos and **** just for the fans. I don’t know why they don’t. Well I do know but still. These bitches are so thirsty for streams so why not 🤷🏻‍♂️

I understand new tracks but they are tracks that are 10/20 years old that has never appeared on streaming services which doesn’t make sense

This is true but when it comes to old albums I doubt Target still sells them all, they could profit more from it imo if they let artists put them on streaming services and get some royalties from it.

+ in some cases, some of those bonus/japaneses tracks are actually on Spotify.

Well I'm not an expert but I recently read a book about the music industry and how it operates and it's much more complicated than it seems, and streaming is a new thing so the labels are having a hard time navigating how they should operate

Unfortunately, record labels and artists are going to be left behind. It’s all about adapting. Streaming has been the main source of consuming music for the best part of 6 years. They have had time to adapt. Take COVID for example, a lot of companies have adapted their product range, and marketing strategies to appeal the people sitting at home. It’s all about adapting. Record labels are known for letting down artists and not adapting to the times.

Many artists (not established ones) wouldn't make much profit considering they get **** all from streaming giants sadly.
