What would of made Carly Rae Jepsen more successful?

I think her career worked out exactly the way it should’ve. I love her music so much, and I love that every time she comes to town, tickets are cheap and she’s able to sell out the house of blues. She seems genuinely happy with the amount of success she’s obtained and she’s in a very comfortable spot. She can live with plenty of financial security for the rest of her life, while making the music she wants to really make, and she never really has to worry about paparazzi. With that, she has a small but very dedicated fanbase that will continue to buy her music and tickets for many years to come! And I’ll be one of them  honestly, I bet a lot of singers are jealous of her level of fame.

If I was CRJ, I would be so happy with her level of success.

She seems like she could live a fairly normal life, while still releasing excellent pop albums. Truly the definition of "music, not the bling."

Having good non basic music really. What else is there for her to do?

Promotion is the key. Her first album was good, Emotion was a great follow up. As people said I Really Like You shouldn’t have been a single let alone a lead single but what’s done is done.

Honestly, I don't see how her career could've turned differently. She is just like Kylie, no matter the amount of promotion or single choices GP wouldn't want to consume her music anyway. She is already successful the way she is right now.

I am authistic, so don't be offended if I make a mess sometimes.

Kylie is extremely successful :toofunny: She still has number one albums to this day. In the UK she is maybe more successful than Gaga or possibly Madonna.

Don’t think she’d suit doing R&B.

Have you heard "No Drug Like Me" or even "All That" 👀

Kylie’s success has only decreased on recent years with her age, but it’s unfair to compare Carly to her when she’s had multiple highly successful eras outside of the US, doesn’t she have like 34 UK Top 10s and 7 #1s :smh:

What I meant is she has her fanbase, but GP is not interested in giving her number ones in song charts anymore. I know she sells albums. But since Kiss Me Once she doesn't chart well with her songs on UK Charts anymore.

True, but the girl is quite the chameleon and I feel she could do justice to R&B.

Kylie does have the GP support. Golden, Step Back In Time and DISCO was all extremely successful albums on the album charts. Her songs are still played on the radio. KMO is the album everyone would like to forget.

I love Carly, but she did decline the label when they proposed a promo rollout for CTTF. It was revealed in an 2019 interview just before Dedicated dropped.

Overall, she's in a neat little place in her career atm and many artists would kill for that type of platform/streams.

Still wish her label invested a bit more in Dedicated - Julien, Want You In My Room, NDLM begging to be radio singles, even the disco infused "Summer Love" from the B-Sides.. oh well.
