If a boy went to the effort of transitioning to be a girl, then they are a girl it's a slippery slope when we start making arbitrary rules about who is a "real" trans person or not. I assure you the amount of cisgender men willing to chemically castrate themselves in the name of a short term athletic career is very minimal. People make money in dishonest ways every single day, why make the lives of trans people(an immensely marginalized group that already face endless hurdles to freedom and happiness) harder because someone might "not really be trans", whatever that means. So, my solution is - Let us have 4+ types of sports? If people are gender-fluid/trans, why the need to fit into the 2 categories? As much as we want this not to be a fact, it remains a scientific fact that men and women are biologically different and those differences give us different qualities. Anyways, issue is though once you've gone through male puberty - you gain an irreversible physical advantage over biological females. Hormone replacement decreases that advantage a bit but not completely unless the individual started taking hormone blockers before the onset of puberty. I can’t say I agree with Jenner’s proposal, but as a trans athlete, her opinions on this subject are bound to carry weight.
