AJRocketMan 2,684 Posted May 25, 2021 Share Posted May 25, 2021 I tried to giving her a chance on YouTube and outside of “Driver’s License” I’m not a fan. Her music isn’t catchy, and it just sounds overly derivative. I get having inspirations, otherwise there would be nothing at all, but sonically she’s copying exactly what her inspirations sound like. “Driver’s License” is especially derivative and it sounds like a Lorde song from 2017 (that’s kind of why I like it though ). She has a nice voice (in the studio anyway), but I don’t see her sustaining any kind of mainstream success long-term. I see her more like a Michelle Branch type of pop star. With all of that said, her producer is responsible for all of this. She’s only as derivative as he is and I don’t find them to be a very creative or crafty pair. And I don’t find him attractive.
