This looks like a strong frontrunner, but I don't see Jennifer winning an Oscar for this. I'm trying to see Aretha in her performance, but it looks like she's acting as herself in a 60's movie

I won't be mad lol. Only one African-American woman has won Best Actress in the history of Oscars. Even Viola Davis was not considered for The Help.

I don't really like when well known people play famous people though. It's too distracting. You have to go with an unknown. And I really think they are making a movie about Aretha too soon after she died. She was barely cold in the grave when they announced a movie 🙄

Yeah it's weird. I was watching the movie Twister yesterday with someone and they said "weird to think Bill Paxton is dead now" and I was stunned. I must have heard it at the time but I'd completely forgotten.

Getting a nom is a huge thing tbh. Obviously i want gaga to win but lets see. Im sure there will be more competition coming in. Anyways i love actressga so gonna focus on that.

What does the morality of the character have anything to do with the actual quality of the performance of an actor?

I know it's not your thought but the fact that people are anticipating this as a potential response makes me worried about humanity's analytical skills...

Let's see, I for one hated those Oscar baited biography since King's Speech, especially about musicians, it has been done so so so many times and almost all of them are bad or mediocre, only good thing about them always is the acting, they don't have a chance at other department.
