I dreamed of a Phoebe medley, a Buffay of you will but her biggest hit will suffice. 

This will be so epic! I love it when Gaga shares her dorky comedic side with the public. And Phoebe was always my fav.

Trust me, I don't take it seriously.  It's not serious.  When a joke has lived, and you try to recapture the magic, it usually doesn't work.

My guess is it will be one of two scenarios:

1.  Gaga (either playing herself or a character) will do bad acting along the lines of "Ok, this is weird, but I'll reluctantly sing along like this weird" but then get into it when she's overcome by Phoebe's confidence.

2.  Gaga (either playing herself or a character) will do bad acting and try to give it the same sincere energy Phoebe does.

Both of those, I'm sorry, will probably make me cringe because it's trying to recreate a vibe that can't be recreated.

The ONLY way I would say it MIGHT work would be if they produced it into a legit Chromatica bop and deliver something totally new.  But, I fear, it will be one of the two scenarios I suggested and only those able to reach deep levels of delusion will be able to convince themselves it was good.   

And I say that with no delight, or hoping it doesn't work.  I just know how these things go.

The funny thing with Phoebe always was that she can't sing... that's why it was so funny along with her "lyrics"... but Gaga on the other hand is one of the best singers alive, so it's not funny when she sings, because she CAN sing.

 

So if it should be funny I guess she must sing badly on purpose and I can't imagine that.

So I'm really curious how they'll do it... maybe we're all surprised and it turns out good and funny. We'll see

Lady Gaga makes an appearance to duet with Kudrow on “Smelly Cat.” “I said to Lisa, ‘Would you be prepared to sing it?’ And she was like, ‘Yeah, that would be fun,’” Winston, who is co-executive producer of “The Late Late Show With James Corden,” recalls. “We went through a few names, and we both agreed that Gaga, if we could get her, would be the ultimate one because she associates with and feels close to Phoebe in so many ways, as Gaga says on the show. That was a really beautiful moment. And Lady Gaga jumped at the chance to do it.”

Kudrow and Gaga had barely any rehearsal time. “We sat there with the two guitars with Lisa and her and worked it out there and then,” Winston says.

Do you realize this is a reunion and not an episode of the series? The actors are themselves not their characters.

Gaga will be interviewed and they will play the song together in (i'm sure of it) playfull way.

I feel like a lot of you are taking this way too seriously 

It’ll be Gaga singing along with a guitar and Lisa for a couple of minutes out of a 2 hour long show, it’s not that deep. The actors aren’t even playing their characters, they’re appearing as themselves and reminiscing about the show…
