No, no, no, no. Please no. Honestly she doesn't deserve all the hate she gets, she is truly such a brave and kind person. This breaks my heart, honestly I'm so heartbroken, I wish I could give her the biggest of hugs, I feel sick to my stomach.

You are so strong Stefani-Gaga, so strong. I've been a LM for a long time now, and never have I assumed this, or interpreted your MVs or songs like this.. so I am so shocked.

Do we know what is meant in that bit, I'm a bit confused:

"I realized that it was the same pain that I felt when the person who raped me dropped me off pregnant on a corner. At my parents' house because I was vomiting and sick. Because I'd been being abused. I was locked away in a studio for months."

Is she referring to a time way after the sexual assault where she felt similar pain because she was overworked/having a burnout ("locked away in a studio)? Ie maybe after ARTPOP? Do we think that was when her fibromyalgia was diagnosed?

That was really sad. I'm glad she's doing better now.

And I'm going to be honest-the way some fans and the entertainment media are tweeting about this is kind of...uncomfortable. I know they mean well, but do they have to write "breaking" before discussing her sexual assault and the ramifications of what happened like they are breaking news about a new single? It's not only that tweet...there are quite a few like it. I wish people would take a step back and more sensitive about how to discuss these sort of triggering issues on social media..there's better wording. And it's not just fans...entertainment media in general comes across as rather insensitive with some of the headlines about Gaga's episode.

I think these sentences are kind of separate thoughts, first one she is explaining where she thinks her fibromyalgia stems from and the other sentences are just further expanding on the situation that caused  the pain itself, I.e. being in the studio with her abuser regularly.

There is an article that I'm not going to link out of respect for Gaga that sheds a lot of light imo but basically this person had a studio outside of NYC and Gaga was there with him every day working on music, and I think that is the situation she is referring to with "locked in the studio". It seems pretty clear to me but maybe I'm wrong, but everything she said lined up/made perfect sense to me based on my own research.

That's why I wanted to highlight the separate segment at the end of the episode, she specifically says something like I don't need people to cry for me, she just wants people to be more cognizant and empathic to people with mental health struggles. And in my opinion stans have not shown that they paid attention to that part so far. :yennefer:

Yeah, I'm pretty sure we all know who it is but Gaga clearly wants to not discuss him. It was before she even came out about it, but I recall one of the people who used to work with her/in her circle sued him after she stopped working for Gaga for some reason and heavily implied he was abusive towards Gaga...this was like back in '09 when the entertainment blogs weren't as invasive and it got hushed up pretty quickly.

I feel like people sometimes don't recognize that it's VERY hard to press charges (and sometimes for psychological reasons people do not want to go through a trial, etc.) when it comes to sexual assault...especially if it's someone you know who attacked you..the system is really slanted against victims (even more so 10+ years ago).

This is what the Marry the Night video is about. It was basically confirmed by people on set with her who saw some of the unedited acting scenes. I feel so much for her and I love her. She told us in her own way already  but I am glad she can speak about it openly now.

She is referencing her breakdown in 2015-2016-ish. Sometimes the brain suppresses trauma for such a long time that once it gets exposed, so to speak, it manifests in physical pain and a detached, numb, out of body experience. Basically, she had a mental/nervous breakdown and she didn't recognize it for what it was at the time, and didn't understand why they brought a psychiatrist to treat her at the hospital. She was likely reliving her trauma via the physical pain she was experiencing during the breakdown.

I have no words. I'm crying and want to thank her for sharing so much of herself over the years. In 2011 she was the first person that made me feel it was okay to be gay. Over the past few years she's taught me it is okay to have mental health struggles too. Her music has brought me so much joy and made me dance even when I didn't feel like going on. Her vulnerability is what has made me loyal to her forever. Her vulnerability and the great person she always has been is far above any accolade or award. This was so brave for her to share and I hope by getting this out in the open she can continue to heal while helping others in the process. I love you Gaga. Thank you for being strong and inspiring us all!

It's not even the crying thing, which I do understand even if she said specifically that wasn't something she said she needed, so much as things like Entertainment Tonight writing "Lady Gaga emotionally recalls getting pregnant after raped"...or another headline that said "Lady Gaga impregnated after rape." Like...the wording seems so insensitive...and some fans are echoing it. TBF a lot of the media/fans have far more delicate, sensitive wording in the headlines.

My sweet baby

this breaks my heart

edit: I just watched her part in this documentary. Her honesty in this actually shocked me. As much as I hate to say this because I too struggle with mental health issues and I’m ashamed for it - it only now truly hit me what this woman is going through. I’ve been a little monster for over a decade now and she never shied away from speaking out about her struggles, but only now I fully realize how much of a hero she is. I will never again expect ANYTHING from her, she doesn’t owe us ANYTHING, the fact she helped us for so many years with her message and music while coping with what has happened to her is above and beyond. We have to stop pressuring her to release music, to be more communicative with us, NOTHING. let’s support her all the time no matter what and not take for granted when she is releasing or giving us anything else. Right now is the most I have ever admired her. It’s not an easy watch but I recommend watching this documentary, it made me stronger watching her talk so bravely and wisely about mental health. I love you so much Gaga

1000x this. We should all just be thankful that she’s still here, thriving, sharing her talent and music with the world. Because if everything she went through happened to me.. I would honestly not survive. She is truly incredible.

For what it’s worth, this is exactly what I was thinking of as well
