Good catch. OT: This is going to be a weird take but I kind of like that she has yet to name her rapist. So many experiences become too much about the accusations and "who done it". But with her, it's different. She's putting 100% of the focus on the experience. The trauma. The living nightmare that lasts a life time. The healing despite it all. And I love her for that. If she ever decides to seek justice somehow, I'm behind her 1000000% but until then, I'm so glad her story is focusing on her as a survivor. Saying "I don't know my real dad" because Joanne's death hurt and impacted him so much that he became a different person. I wonder if, in the back of her mind, she was also talking about herself. Maybe that's why she took on Joanne as a persona. Or even Lady Gaga as a persona. God...so much of her work is about pain. I'm really thankful she shares it with us. I think the segment at the end of the episode is incredibly important. I'm paraphrasing but she says she is not sharing her story to get pity, but for people to open their hearts and be there for someone else who is suffering. I guess maybe people are surprised she actually is talking about it. I know it's a heavily charged topic which it really shouldn't be, especially in cases of violent assault. The fact that she said she feels shame about it is very sad. I hope she is able to learn to let herself off the hook eventually.
