If it makes Dua fans feel better, Bad Romance peaked at #2 and got blocked by Kesha's Tik Tok from getting that #1. At the end of the day it's just numbers and like I already said, a great song doesn't always chart in the Top 10.

Exactly. And Applause was blocked from #1 on iTunes by Katy's Roar.

Yeah but Tik Tok was a behemoth of a song. Sales and Radio. LTDO is just a radio hit song.

-They postponed the anouncement of the chart 2 days.
-They erased 4k+ sales from Levitating.
-Even after erasing sales Levitating was #1 (Levitating:293 points, LTDO: 292 points)
-They adjusted the radio play weight so that it is #2 now (LTDO: 299 points, Levitating:297 points)

I hope this is a sign that radio play is going to stop having so much weight as it's ridiculous that, on a knife edge situation like this, that's what decides it. Just because something is playing on the radio, it doesn't mean anyone likes it, it's just playing on the radio, usually because radios are told what to play and are paid to play what they do. As they say: what becomes a hit isn't what the public want, it's what's paid for. Streaming is putting more power in the hands on the public but still not enough, clearly. To anyone who's upset about this, remember that songs that missed the top spot narrowly did achieve it later on when it was assumed its chance was done. And also that plenty of people assume #2 hits are actually #1's. Many people are still shocked to this day that BR didn't go #1. People only truly care about the chart positions of their faves, if at all. The only ones who put real weight in the chart achievements of others is the youth market who have a bone to pick with other fanbases.
