OR she IS just seeking attention because you have no idea the true depth some celebrities sink to for attention.  I'm not claiming she 100% is not non binary BUT she is using this for a reaction and it seems very calculated to me.

It could totally be calculated! But her behavior doesn't seem that wild when you looking into WHY she behaves the way she does. I would be an attention seeker too if I never felt seen and would totally act out if I was told my entire life I couldn't be who I was. I could be totally wrong! Totally. I just think we need to stop invalidating other's identities and then getting mad when they act out.

Feels like these news will be getting better feedback if it was coming from anyone but Demi :poot:

Demi had been mean and horrible to a lot of people, so I guess that's why the negative energy coming back at Demi. It is the karmic system, I suppose.

The misgendering in this thread... :fthis: It's like the Sam Smith threads all over again.

Accidental misgendering is one thing. Intentionally calling someone by the incorrect pronouns because you think they're out for an attention grab or you merely don't like them is another thing.

The point is....if I've lived my whole life as lets say a straight white male who is 65 years old and then one day realize i'm trans or non binary there are people out there who will jump on other people's back about calling me he/him and call me a bigot /ignorant/ transphobic/whatever.  Intention is all that matters...if someone is trying to be mean and disrespectful to you then that is their intention.  If someone slips up or says the wrong thing then give them a break.  There are also people who are attention seeking and using these labels to separate  themselves and make themselves feel special.  It's very narcissistic and gross.

You'll notice that none of those who have misgendered Demi have acknowledged they "slipped up" or corrected their mistake despite it being pointed out. Implying that there was no slip up, and that it was intentional.

All I see her do is continuously attack people and businesses, then coming out with some sort of revelation about herself, followed by a nice documentary. Rinse and repeat haha

Well let's be real...to the straight world and to even to a lesser extent the whole non binary label is not always taken seriously.  I was just having a conservation with my sister about this today...she is a lesbian and I am gay.  We are both in our late 30's and came up before this whole non binary label.  We both expressed to each other that i don't really feel like a man or a woman....so maybe this is like being non binary but we both never felt some intense urge to label ourselves something else or felt pained when someone called us by our pronouns.  From someone who is older and can actually relate to how this feeling is inside....i can not however relate to be severely pained by someone referring to me as man or he.  I feel that SOME people want the labels they/them just purely so they can differentiate themselves and make themselves feel special and be PC crusader that is set to take on the world.  I like to look at all the evidence.....take caitlyn jenner for example.  She obviously has struggled for many years living double lives and you could see the pain she went through in interviews etc.  I may not like her as a person but i respect her and her identity.  Demi however....no i just dont.  I feel its phony and an attention grab....she is even saying this all evolving and she isn't sure of anything......so why say anything at all then if you aren't sure and everything is still evolving or whatever.  I just find her problematic and don't believe her intentions are pure.

About 98.7% sure she’s just queerbaiting at this point. She changes something every single time she sun the headlines. It’s ridiculous and seriously disrespectful for people who have to go through sh!t everyday for actually being non-binary.

Even if you aren't keeping up with the evolving conversations our culture is having regarding gender, just use whatever pronouns a person tells you that they prefer. It's just a matter of politeness.  :vegas:
