StrawberryBlond 14,900
Wow, this was THE year of the woman at this ceremony. 9 performance slots of which 6 of them women. Just 11 awards and 8 of them won by women, including Best British Group being won by females for the first time in BRITS history. Finally, this ceremony rightfully recognises women when they've had success, like they've been doing for men for decades. Let's hope there's many more years like this. Oh, and just just remembered that all 5 nominees of the Best British Album award were female. I don't need to look it up to know that has never happened until now. To know that whoever wins will be female is a feeling I've never experienced in a mixed gender category. It's not to say that men don't deserve to win ever again but it would be nice to have every few ceremonies to be a female-dominated year if a lot of women were successful. It just seems that unless you're a stratospheric success like Adele, you didn't stand a chance at the BRITS if you were a woman. On the list of biggest winners of all time, there's just 6 women who have achieved 4 or more awards. Gaga's just one award away from getting on that list if only they'd rightfully nominate her again!
