Gaga was MIA on the Hot 100 from 2012-18 (with two singles carrying her) so we shouldn't be surprised that she isn't included on this list.

2010 encompasses a good portion of Bad Romance's chart history and all of the singles that followed. I understand your point re: 2012-2018 but I just would have thought that TFM-BTW era & Shallow would have put her in the high end of the top 10. Definitely wouldn't have expected her to be in the top 5. I mean she made it to 11 so I don't think my thought process is really that far off.

2008-2009 was so massive for Gaga that with those 2 years added she's 28 spots above Ed Sheeran :diane: cute list, describes the 2010s well minus The Weeknd + Ariana (considering Post who's also more 2nd half of the decade)

Yes, but when we look at the bigger picture, all of those artists were releasing song after song every month and then you see Gaga's singles from the entire decade and they add up to 10/11 max so no wonder even Maroon 5 surpassed her.

Mister G

So this is end of decade aka end of 2020 because the way they word some of these makes it sound like they're talking about the current decade.

Decade, sweetie, I’m so sorry.

he’s a good singles seller, his album tracks are insufferable imo.

The thing is, he has some great album tracks too. My problem with Drake is that his albums could be amazing if they were only 10-13 tracks long. He understands how streaming works, meaning that he will continue to put out 20-30 track albums that have no right being as long as they are.

People like them though, and I’ve grown to appreciate him over the years. He really is incredibly influential, and I don’t think he gets his dues for that.

BTW didn’t have the massive commercial presence that I think we all remember. The singles didn’t last on the charts nearly as long as her The Fame/Monster singles, and it was all over with on the charts by the beginning of 2012 for the most part.

Don’t get me wrong, it was huge, the hits were massive, etc. but it was also a year competing with Katy and Adele at the peak of their powers, and Gaga’s Hot 100/200 presence wasn’t as big as theirs.

Shallow was massive, as was ASIB, and I honestly think that it was them that made her even crack the top 15 tbh.

LOVE JUNKIE

If y'all thought Gaga would be on this list you obv weren't following her career very closely :madge:

I think if this were an award for impacting culture and being a well-rounded pop icon she'd be first place no problem :huntyga:

All fair points. Is just the stan goggles. Just seems odd to me that Gagas commercial peak as we call it is during the decade. You could say it's because most of her early hits were on the cusp 2009 that hurt her here. Either way, 11 is still good given all of the fame is excluded.

Why were ppl expecting gaga to be on the list? 2012-2018 she literally only had applause be a hit. It’s crazy to think how much more successful she could have been chart wise had she played her cards right.

Gaga may not be able to rule the music realm throughly but her recent advent to Hollywood movies and the critical acclaim on acting already put her on a higher pedestal than these artists :ally:

We’re you guys really expecting Gaga to be in the top 10 for commercial success? We spent the better half of the decade arguing about “music not the bling” lmao

Very fair. I honestly had it in my head that BTW was one of the most successful albums of all time up until I actually looked into it, because that's how it felt from my point of view.

Things that helped Gaga remain well on this chart is ASIB monstrous success on both sales and streaming, Gaga's consistency figures in regular sales due to her fans loyalty (her streaming presence is only starting now) those usually count more than streaming numbers, her social media presence specially in the early of the dace and her household name as a touring artists. All that counts points to the billboard charts so even if Gaga went missing from Hot 100 in a good chunk of the decade she still was present in many other metrics confirming her iconicess.

Still hurt that she missed top 10 for Post Malone's 15yo rap fans listening him nonstop on spotify tho.

Oh and ofc if The Fame/Monster numbers counted shed be way higher. Those numbers alone helped her place in the 2000s list i remember
