What is happening to Palestinians right now is straight up disgusting. I feel so sad when I see all those innocent people suffering. It reminds me of my people from Bosnia back in the 90s when gonocide happened and the world stayed silent. Israel needs to be held accountable for all those innocent lives lost today and through the years and the stealing from Palestinians.

This makes me so ****ing sad. Trigger warning!

Spoiler

Please everyone who is using social media share something. It may be nothing for you but it means the world to those who are suffering right now.

Wow, seems the tides are finally changing from support of Israel, I am hoping with my whole heart the momentum keeps up.

The fact that pure colonialism and apartheid is still happening to this very day is very disappointing of a world constantly claiming to be all for human rights. I'm glad these celebrities are using their platforms to shed light on Palestine. Many of them are mainstream, which is great.

I just saw the video of people from Israel cheering, singing and dancing while the mosque is burning. I am truly disgusted.

I'm glad they are doing this. People always say 'keyboard activism' is useless, but this is incredibly important. We need to be active members of online activism and spread as much news and information as possible, especially that social media platforms are constantly deleting posts about this and deactivating accounts (and then they blame it on "technical problems" like IG and FB did today lol).  And even more important is the need for accurate information, something mainstream media has been adamant on not providing. Just now I saw the New York Post's article (which was deleted a few minutes ago after being online for over an hour. I'll post a screenshot in a bit) with the headline "Airstrikes from Hamas militants kill 20 in Israel, including nine kids". This is literally fully twisting what happened and changing everything, and people will obviously buy into it. We need to contribute to the diffusion of accurate news. Post on your socials, spread the word, follow accounts and report their content. Look for protests happening in your areas (there are protests happening all over the world) and share/join them if possible. We NEED to actively fight against this in whatever ways we can. We are witnessing settler colonialism and ethnic cleansing in action and it's been in-process for over a century now.

Edit: the article from the NYP (screenshot is weird because I screenshot it from a quote retweet by someone else)

It's never useless. If it wasn't for the online activism, these celebrities would probably have never heard of what's going in Palestine. Now imagine how many people are going to learn about this just because a public figure with million of followers has spoken about the cause.

Do as much as you can in your own way. Everything counts. You're on the good side of history.

And some users want to convince me that it's only the government that's bad and that the people are not part of the problem. Disgusting.

I'm not defending the atrocious, horrific Israeli actions but IF that is the video I've seen circulating it's very  misleading. The people were gathered to celebrate Jerusalem Day at the Western Wall (multiple journos have discussed it on twitter).

I'm glad some celebs are raising awareness, but I'm side-eyeing the people on twitter who are mad that every celeb isn't posting about this. Unfortunately, large swaths of the general public are downright unaware or don't get the full story and whether some actress or comedian posts doesn't make that much of a difference in the long run.

What people should get angry about are politicians refusing to discuss the crimes being committed against Palestinians.
