The fact that sooo many people want children in even the best of times has always baffled me anyway. Like you guys want to have less money, sleep and time? For 18 years bare minimum? And billions of people choose this? 

But then again I don't have a maternal bone in my body anyway

But when its an event that causes economic stress this isnt the first time birth rates dropped

 

Birth rates dropped in the 2008 financial crisis... it fell in the 1980s & 1990s recession

 

Birth rates even dropped in 1930s Great Depression and birth control wasnt much of a thing back then

 

This isnt the same as a big snow storm that makes u forced to be in the house for a week and in ur stable relationship u decide to have a baby

i think this sounds like how people would shame others for wanting no kids. no need to make fun of those who want one just like those who hate kids its valid and some love kids some hate it.
