anonnona 283
"At 83, Hopkins is the oldest actor ever to win an Oscar — male or female — beating out Christopher Plummer who was just 82 when he won in 2012 for Beginners. Plummer received a nomination at the age of 88 for All the Money in the World, making him the oldest person to ever be nominated in any acting category. It is Hopkins’ second Best Actor victory. He famously won in 1992 for his role as Hannibal Lecter in Jonathan Demme’s The Silence of the Lambs. In all, he has been nominated six times, for Silence, The Father, The Remains of the Day, Nixon, The Two Popes and Amistad." https://deadline.com/2021/04/anthony-hopkins-wins-2021-oscars-best-actor-oldest-ever-1234743785/ Sir Anthony Hopkins did not attend the 2021 Oscars in person, nor did he send in a pre-recorded acceptance speech, but here is his belated thanks sent from Wales https://www.instagram.com/p/COHpbqpHcqY/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Shocking but well-deserved win nonetheless. Glad he paid tribute to Chadwick Boseman too

TheSlash 14,539
One of the most prolific and proficient actors of our time . I loved his performance on Silence of the Lambs and currently enjoy it again in Westworld (watching Season 1 for the third time really makes me appreciate him even more ). May he live a long and happy life . EDIT: I just read the description for 'The Father' - hold on, I add it to my watchlist real quick Ew, David!
