I saw a discussion somewhere else lately saying how great they thought it was and the majority agreed

I thought it was pretty fantastic tbf and a great set list from what I can remember, as well as an absolutely brilliant intro

So someone recently uploaded the full version of Gagachella to YouTube and I watched it for the first time in years. It reminded me how lackluster the performance was for Gaga's normal standards. One outfit change, both of which were just black bodysuits. Pretty tame hair and makeup. Vocals were amazing, but Gaga's energy and enthusiasm seemed so low, and I know people speculated that she may have even been high. For Coachella to be such a big deal I just feel like it seemed a little subpar, and again this is cause Gaga normally brings 110% to everything she does.

I know she had just come of the Superbowl but she was literally stepping in for Beyonce so I feel like she really needed to bring it. Don't get me wrong, it was still sickening and I loved seeing her perform, I just felt like it was missing a little something. Was something else going on behind the scenes?

I understand what you are saying but it was as many members stated less than two months rehearsal compared to normal 6 to 8 months. In the day time she was at the other stage filming and night performing Coachella.  You are correct as it wasn’t the normal stage show we have seen before, but I think it’s a good thing. It was raw and actually more similar to pre fame Gaga. I know the set she had scheduled last year would have been closer to what we normally see.  I think she will have the chance to do either Coachella or another similar show in her career again. This time not as a replacement. The show was amazing and actually garnered her respect from a different audience who assumed it would be like her normal shows. All love as it was amazing!

I thought the set list was great for a festival but I get what you mean about it being a little lacklustre. The vocals were barely there in places, all you could hear was the backing track

I mean festival performances are rarely about production, more about having fun in the moment. It wasn't designed for TV so just watching it on a screen you can't really judge it.

Well, I think it was rushed (2 weeks to prepare, for an artist like Gaga, is not enough time). I feel Gaga was either wasted, on meds or very tired during week 1, as she was kinda weird on stage. There's even a part where she asks her team "how am i doing?" as if she was worried about her performance.

I still loved it, and it went very well. But yeah, the problem is that there was not enough time to prepare it.

It's literally one of her best "one off" shows?? What are you on about?? The setlist alone is very Gaga because it was filled will deep cuts, it could have easily been a greatest hits gig like Enigma. This fan base never ceases to amaze me sometimes :ladyhaha:

You remind me that it's such a wonderful thing to love.

I disagree with it being "lackbuster"... Gaga is in her 30's and her way of performing and the performances in general won't be the same as TMB when she was 25... she'll do it in her way and we should take whatever we get from her.

After more than a decade of being a fan I've learned to have no expectations, which leads to no disapointments... If whatever she delivers is not for you, I think it's best to just let it go and not think about it too much. Jazz ain't my thing so when C2C dropped I just enjoyed the videos of her great live vocals and that was it...

If anything I think Coachella was the start of  Gaga starting to rely on her raw talent on stage vs. the costumes and stage design etc. etc...

I disagree. It's my favorite gaga show ever.

Just because there's no vomit/castle/meat dress it doesn't mean that its not 'gaga'.

She was great, looked happy and OMG what a setlist

Oh and lets not forget that iconic octopus intro? I would die if that image was an album cover and the instrumental an actual song

I really adore the performance, and with the little time they had, she delivered that awesome intro and interludes/backdrops and one of her best setlists ever. The only thing i'd probably add would be some more elaborate outfits. A more interesting stage would also elevate the performance probably, the stage itself seems huge compared to those glass/light prop things they had in the background.

So yea, i understand your point, but for the joanne era, with all the circumstances i think it was good. Me and my friends were watching it live and it was incredible when she started to sing sexxx dreams and venus, it was so unexpected. (and the cure !!)

I remember people saying she seemed more energetic in the 2nd weekend too, and there was a different jacket for telephone, but ive never watched
