flyaway 15,350
Of course he is. He's been purposefully doing that since his breakthrough in mainstream pop. He keeps working with Max Martin for the hits (as he himself said), and of course he was gonna try to reach another hit by featuring Doja Cat and Ariana. Idk, it's kinda tacky and irrelevant. The album is already acclaimed by the fans and the public. What else does he want to prove? The Grammys are meaningless, they have nominated so many undeserving works throughout the years . Still enjoy Ariana on the song tho

You don't like it don't listen to it and don't support it, just shoosh yourself and let the fans enjoy it. Not saying is bad, just seems desperate. He can, of course, put out 100 more remixes. Jose P 23,341
LMFAO and?? You can say the same for Gaga with Ariana, but nooo when it comes to her it’s “organic” and “she has a genuine friendship with Ariana”. Well guess what, you can say the same with Abel and Ari, they’re frequent collaborators and friends for longer than she has been with Gaga. I mean, is it wrong for an artist to do a bunch of stuff for their eras? Remixes, tons of singles, just content in general. Not everyone is absent like Gagz. r4therupbeat 1,587
the album is a year and half old. him and his team are doing their job. Chromatica lasted 3 months and could've had the same success

Same for Sour Candy. Pop as a genre no longer means to be "popular" and that's been a fact for many years. "Pop artists" don't have to be throwing songs left and right to see what sticks. It feels reductive. IMO I don't think it's a coincidence that gaga collabbed with ariana and black pink on her dance pop comeback album and that she just envisioned the songs with them. They're 2 of the most popular pop acts worldwide. Why them and not a collab with kesha, rihanna, or somebody from gagas pop "class" ? Bc more exposure to young/worldwide demographics for gaga, and more acclaim for ari/black pink collabing with a legend imo
PEZ 6,227
Meh, is it so wrong to be 'hungry'? If it gives him the drive to create and deliver music to his fans then more power to him! I'm not gonna complain that someone is aiming high (with a bonus of pleasing fans at the same time) 39 minutes ago, Aphasic said: Exactly why it feels unnecessary. Tbh I personally don't like thinking in terms of whether music (or any other creative pursuit) is 'necessary' ⚡🐲

She has to filter her vision to a commercial level - if she truly was 100% artistic, she would do whatever she wanted. Not make most of the songs on the album less than 3 minutes long. I believe her music would be much more experimental and weird than something like Chromatica if she wasn’t in the commercial scene. Its pop music, and it’s not like Ariana’s feature is lazy - there’s time and effort into it. And if he wants a number 1, then he should be able to go for it. ARTPOP, Joanne, C2C none of which, I bet you, her record label was too pleased to release but I'm sure she put her foot down and said I want to do this whether it's a commercially success or not. We all know how she scrapped LG5 and then decided to put out Joanne. She shows more integrity to her artistry. Of course I get she and every other artist at her level of success are going to be pressured to put digestible music Gaga could have easily follow the formula from TF and TFM but she didn't.
