My point is that it's not correct to say that being Portuguese makes you fit in the spanish criteria, it actually makes you fit the european criteria, because being european doesn't mean being spanish, though being spanish means being european. It's like saying that being latino makes you fit in the Mexican criteria. It doesn't. Being Mexican means you are latino, but being latino doesn't necessarily imply that you are Mexican.
