Girl you need to retire :fail:

She's standing down from the Speaker role in 2022 (assuming Dems retain the House in midterms)

While Chauvin is found guilty, can someone explain how this will ensure more Black people receive justice (even though George died)? Like would this case help police stop/decrease the brutality since they see how they could face the same consequences as Chauvin? Hope I make sense

Thank you for dying? Ummm...:awkney:

I think it would have been better for her to just say George has been vindicated this day and we celebrate with his family that they've found justice for their loved one and we as a country will continue the fight to ensure black lives are given the same humanity white people have been given for centuries!

I think that's exactly what people are thinking. Usually cops get away with this but this verdict makes people think the tide is turning and that cops won't act so harshly if they think they might not get away with it. A sad state of affairs

Yeah, "sacrifice" isn't the word :toofunny:

There's a lesson to be learned and his name will hopefully be one of the last we need to put in the books next to this topic but...girl :deadbanana:

Call me ageist but Democrats need more millennials holding seats of power :spin:

Yeah ppl over a certain age have a high tendency to loose touch with modern way of thinking or the realities of life, or just fail to keep up in general

Like if ur over 80 its time to retire in most cases. If not like shes holding some position where shes irreplaceable :flop:

holy scheisse

He was murdered he didn't sacrifice anything :sis: Words matter. And culture has shifted so much that many of these older politicians are having to keep up rather than being natively fluent.

They could replace her at any time with anyone in the house :yennefer:

Like, I stan her "tough bitch, no bullsh*t" ways but pass the torch already :poot:

I know she's overhyped sometimes but AOC would be a great speaker. All the same positive qualities as Nancy but with the benefit of being new blood.

I tend to take more issue with some of the other "squad" members and how they conduct themselves. Like, there's a difference between not compromising on your values and being disrespectful when doing so :poot:

There's a reason she's considered one of the progressive leaders. She knows how to be an adult while the others sometimes act like they've just jumped straight from stan Twitter to the US congress :poot:

But that's not a discussion I'm willing to have on this site :fan: I have enough haters, thank you :fan:

In terms of how she conducts herself were in agreement. I never had an issue with her there

Did she not run this by anyone before saying it? Or did she, but is surrounded by similarly tone-deaf people? :triggered: Surely she has staffers and assistants out the wazoo to review these kinds of things with ahead of time? She's only had how many weeks/months to prepare a sensitively-worded statement for the time the verdict came...

I'm crabby that politicians keep making these sorts of bizarre statements :triggered: Really feel like it shows how little thought most invest in their constituents' lives, or that their reality is terribly disconnected from our reality, something like that Idk
